Studio Ford’s debut houseware collection emerged from an intuitive creative partnership between designer-artist Dan Bruinooge and Studio Ford’s Josie Ford. Born from a shared appreciation for material sensibility and designing with care, these jewelry boxes pair Bruinooge’s monolithic, sculptural bases with delicate silk lining handwoven by master artisans in Maheshwar, India. The interplay results in a unique balance of grounded, architectural strength and rhythmic, tactile softness, exemplifying the pair’s commitment to intentional, hand-crafted design.

Drawing from references like Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Josef Hoffmann, a traditional sari found on Josie’s first trip to India, and Pompeian frescoes, the pieces display an emphasis on total design and handcraft traditions. The palette is one of tonal restraint, softened by warmth.

The bronze hardware, hand-carved by Bruinooge and Ford, is produced through traditional lost-wax casting. The solid walnut box is lined with our two-toned copper and plum silk.  Each piece is fabricated by hand in Los Angeles.
