Interwoven was designed in the spirit of the often overlooked women of the Bauhaus – specifically Gunta Stölzl, Anni Albers, Otti Berger, and Benita Koch-Otte. In symmetry with the interconnectedness of their intricate weaving patterns, the works of these women played an integral role in the historic movement with their influence braided into the art of making. Each artist represented in this collection pushed the boundaries of what it meant to be a maker both then and now, 100 years later – not just as a woman, but as a person engaged with the aesthetic world.
