Interwoven
In dedication to the women of the Bauhaus. Designed by Josie Ford, photographed by Austin Leis.
Interwoven, Studio Ford’s fifth collection, is dedicated to the often-overlooked women of the Bauhaus, including Gunta Stölzl, Anni Albers, Otti Berger, and Benita Koch-Otte.
Drawing from the movement’s geometric language, primary colors, and belief in dissolving the boundaries between art and craft, the collection reinterprets these ideas through Studio Ford’s hand-block-printed textiles. Each design was developed in Los Angeles and printed by hand in Jaipur in close collaboration with the studio’s longtime team of craftspeople.
Abstract, rhythmic, and architectural, the collection brings the visual language of Bauhaus weaving into quilts, throws, pillows, and table linens while remaining rooted in the character of the traditional Indian block printing process.
