Designed as a dedication to and in the spirit of the often overlooked women of the Bauhaus movement, our Benita Quilt is an ode to Benita Koch-Otte. Benita Koch-Otte attended the Bauhaus from 1920 to 1925. As an essential part of the weaving department, she pushed back against the understanding of textiles as a feminine craft. To this day, she's widely respected for her design of the kitchen at the 1923 Haus am Horn in Weimar.
Our reversible throw, made by hand over many months, consists of block-printed percale cotton and natural cotton fill. Each quilt is hand-stitched using a traditional unknotted running-stitch technique.
